I hear the words "no, we've gone another way" far more than I hear the words "yes, you're booked" That is just the nature of the business. Does that mean that I should hang it up and go pursue another profession? Absolutely not! Rejection is simply a part of the business, just like headshots, auditions, and dance calls. It is just another part of what happens in the business of show. Does rejection get easier with time? Sure, I'm here to tell you that it does. But most importantly, knowing that "rejection is not personal; it's just business," will be the first step towards making you a happier actor.
