About
The Beginning of 32 Bar Cut
Adrienne Walker started a blog series titled “32 Bar Cut” in September of 2020 as a way of connecting theatre artists during the Covid-19 shutdown and sharing stories of what life is really like for a Broadway performer. What began as a simple blog for theatre audition advice has transformed into something much bigger. The blog has now expanded into three shows, “Broadway Banter,” “The Show” & “The Curtain Call.” In addition, “The Show” & “The Curtain Call” are offered as a podcast. The original blog, now titled, “Broadway Banter,” is a video series discussing Adrienne’s experiences as a stage performer. She offers advice based on her experiences in the industry and encourages her fellow artists to keep pursuing their dreams in spite of all the naysayers. Both Adrienne and her husband Austin did not study musical theatre. They both started their musical theatre journey together in their early 20s and fell in love with it. They left their classical music careers behind and have been pursuing theatre careers ever since. Because of their lack of formal theatre training, they had to learn so many things the hard way. This series hopes to help others in their journey to avoid the mistakes and pitfalls that they made along the way. New episodes every Monday at 2:30pm ET.
In the new series, “32 Bar Cut: The Show,” Adrienne and Austin invite their amazing colleagues that they’ve met and collaborated with over the years to sit down and discuss what being a performer on Broadway is really like. We so seldom get the chance to sit down for “long-form” interviews with theatre stars. “32 Bar Cut: The Show” provides a safe place for the guests to come on the show and tell their truth. Too many times, Broadway performers have remained silent in fear of losing current and future opportunities. Adrienne and Austin are so grateful to all of the fantastic guests so far who have so graciously offered over their time to sit down each week and to share their personal experiences about their life in show business. New episodes every Thursday at 1pm ET.
Created with subscribers in mind, “32 Bar Cut: The Curtain Call” continues the conversation between Adrienne, Austin and their guests, diving deeper into topics such as, diversity on and off stage, rehearsal processes, casting calls, audition prep, stage horror stories, and so much more. In preparation for the launch of our new series “32 Bar Cut: The Show,” we wanted to have exclusive content for our subscribers designed from the outset, rather than an afterthought. It is important to us that our subscribers are getting the most “bang for their buck.” So, from the beginning, we filmed two segments with each of our guests. The first segment (“The Show”) is offered on our website and YouTube for the public. The second segment named, “The Curtain Call,” is offered for subscribers only and is available on our website as both a podcast and a video series.
